Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds are headed off on yet another North American tour in support of their recently released eighteenth studio album, Wild God. The post punk icons have been in the music scene since the early 80s, and even earlier if you count the core members’ previous projects. They’ll be headed to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn this April, so make sure you get your tickets while you can.
One of the most consistent rock bands of all time, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds were established in 1983 after the rather messy breakup of the core members’ previous band, the Birthday Party. To date, they’ve released eighteen studio albums and toured the world dozens of times, with their newest record being released in late 2024. Coming all the way from Melbourne, Australia, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds are highly influential in the dark and gritty world of post punk rock. They played a huge role in the development of post punk itself, but specifically in stylizing gothic rock into a thriving genre by the mid eighties. They’ve released eighteen studio albums across forty years, a lifespan every band wishes for. Since they began releasing music in the early 80s, their consistency and hard work has paid off. They’ve earned an APRA Music Award, seven ARIA Awards, and 4 Grammy nominations, including two nominations for the upcoming 67th Grammy Award Ceremony. Grammy Award nominated band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds have much to celebrate this year. In August 2024, they released their eighteenth studio album. Not long after, they announced the Wild God World Tour, which will see the band performing both old and new favourites. But the news that really sent Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds into 2025 on a high note was the two nominations they received for the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. Wild God is nominated for Best Alternative Music Album and the track Song Of The Lake is up for Best Alternative Music Performance. In the new year, you can catch them when they perform in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center on April 17th. See you then.
